Grocery Shopping Tips

I just blogged about going for green shopping. But of course, there are things that are not available online. So we have to drive and go to our favorite shops to do our grocery shopping. Here are some tips I could draw in doing grocery shopping:

1. Don’t go shopping for food when you’re hungry! Not only will you buy too much, but you’ll buy things that you want to eat there and then rather than items to store for later use.

2. Make a shopping list! Otherwise you’ll find yourself wandering around the supermarket aisles aimlessly and will end up buying items that you don’t need.

3. Get to know the workings of your local shops: find out when fresh foods are restocked, when the busy periods are and at what time of day bakery goods are reduced in price, for instance.

4. If you don’t see what you want on the shelf, ask for it because it may be in the back of the shop waiting to be shelved. If a local store doesn’t have what you regularly need, ask the shopkeeper to order it for you – a shopkeeper’s business is, after all, to serve you!

5. Don’t pack raw and cooked meats into the same shopping bag because the cooked meat could become contaminated by the raw meat’s juices.

Go Green and Shop Online

One of the ways to keep our enviroment clean and green is to go green shopping. Green shopping is a new term for me but actually it has been encouraged for quite some time now, especially from those people who loves to keep our environment clean and green.

It would help much if we shop online. This way, we don’t need to drive our car which spends petrol/gas to travel to and from the shops. It also reduceds noise and air pollution. So if you can do it, let’s shop online… or let’s go for green shopping. Shall we?

Things I Like About in Malaysia

The first few months in Malaysia was a struggle for me. My purse was snatched from behind me while  crossing the street in Old Klang Road after church. In there was my newly applied passport. I had to go to Singapore for that purpose. Then I was only in Malaysia for 3 days and my purse with my passport inside was snatched. So I had to struggle for a few months.

There are a lot of foreign workers in Malaysia. For that, the Immigration offices were a bit strict. That added to my struggle. But when I finally settled down, I discovered there are just so many things to be thankful about in Malaysia.

1. Sale is like a year-round thing. There’s always seasonal sale. And it’s not so hard to find whatever you need, i.e. industrial handles, knobs, or any industrial supplies.

2. Traffic System is quite organized. Only people who are using the road are not so organized sometimes. But I like the traffic system in Malaysia. You need to pay toll fees though. That means you are paying for a convenient traffic. I don’t mind it. When I and hubby are going somewhere, we would choose convenience over toll-free and yet you have to go bumper to bumper and be late.

3. Malls are quite posh. Well, my favorite malls are. I specifically love Sunway Pyramid.

4. Parks are everywhere. It is required by the government to have a park in every housing area. And my house is situated right across the park. So my kids and I could go to the park with playground facilities for free. And we could do that everyday sans the rain and the out of the town trips.

5. There’s a variety of food. If you get tired of eating Chinese food everyday, you could easily get an Indian food or Malay food. There’s also a lot of western and mideterranean food. There’s just a wide variety of selection.

6. There’s some kind of control media-wise. Since Malaysia is a Muslim country, there’s so much censorship and control in the media, especially on the s3x part.  There are of course an existence of those things but it’s not public. With this media control, I am so glad that I am raising my kids in Malaysia.

7. Beautiful Resorts and Entertainment places are viable, easily accessible, and not that expensive. So we could go for family breakaways without tearing our pockets up.

Benefits of Checking First

With just about any information we can get from the internet nowadays, it is so hard to pass up searching of checking the products first before purchasing them. It is always beneficial to search all the information you can get. For example, before buying or taking any diet supplements like ephedra, it helps a lot to read reviews about it.

I have a friend who has to a play she never liked. She said she should have read the play’s reviews first before saying yes to a friend. So what are the benefits of checking first?

1. you will enjoy your purchase

2. you can save money by buying the right product

3. you can save time of not having to change your purchases.

British India Is On Sale!

One of my favorite place to shop is at British India from where else… but Sunway Pyramid. I only buy clothes there when it is on sale. They have a very good quality clothes but the prices match the quality of the clothes as well… if you know what I mean.

When I and friend went to Sunway Pyramid, we checked out British India… and they have up to 70% off sale. Of course I went straight to the 70% off department. My friend actually didn’t care about the sale and went straight to the normal price.

I got a top. But of course, I can’t show you here. My camera’s card reader is still missing that’s why. Anyways… my hubby was dismayed I only bought one. He told me we’re going there on Saturday. He wants to check it himself. He knows I have a very good control when it comes to shopping. So controlled I don’t make sense. That’s what he said. So he’s going to take me there again and see what else I missed.

Marks and Spencers

I always struggle in looking for a perfect fit jeans for me. With my body structure and figure, I can only find the perfect fit from Levi’s and Jag Jeans… something low waist cut. Today, my friend and I were in Sunway Pyramid just to hang around each other. Went to British India and checked whether they have some available pants for me. I was a bit disappointed that even the smallest size they had was still too big for me. We wanted to go to Starbucks after British India but we were passing by Marks and Spencers… so we decided to window shop there too. Glad we did. I found a perfect fit for me. It’s a bit pricy… but I thought it has been 6 years since I didn’t buy a pair of jeans for me. And skinny jeans, no matter how it has been in the trend since 3 years ago in Malaysia… I simply couldn’t afford to buy it because it didn’t flatter my figure. I didn’t want to simply buy just because it’s hot! I still wanted to stick to my right fit. And here it is, my first Marks and Spencers low waist cut jeans. With my bloggy earning, I could afford to buy this one this time. What a treat after doing those assignments till wee hours of the night.

Fashion

I love keeping up with fashion. I don’t necessarily follow them. I only use the ones I am comfortable with and look good at. When I was small, my mom used to sew my dresses. She would keep up with what’s the latest and sew it for me. Sometimes though, I became a trendsetter and I would become an envy in with my peers. Sometimes, I would design my own dress. I especially designed my own prom dress when I was in high school.
Speaking of prom dresses, there’s a company that supplies beautiful prom dresses. I just checked their website and I was stunned with how beautifully they made prom dresses. In fact, they are the ones that supplied prom dress for 2008 ABC Family’s new reality series America’s Prom Queen. This month, in March, they have a sale going on. So better check out Promgirl.net. You will truly be amazed on how those dresses can be so beautiful.

I especially like the knee-length high prom dress. It is so chic. I don’t mind wearing it… with prom or without prom. Make it red and it would be my ideal prom dress.

Promgirl.net offers prom shoes as well. Chic red prom dress paired with this pair of matching red stillettos and that would make me a happy prom girl.

Of course, the prices vary, depending on what style you want. You can get nice and beautiful matching prom dresses and shoes from below 300$. And if budget is not a problem and you want to have the best gown and shoes, then you can have it too.

If you’re worried that you can’t make a choice that fits you perfectly, Promdress.net offers prom advice. You may shoot them an email which is available at their website or simply call them. The phone number is available as well. You might want to check out the designer of the month as well and see which gowns are the top 10 gowns for this month.

The ratings and comments from the customers are all excellent. It’s because they will give you the exact style you want that would perfectly fit you… and probably make you the Prom Girl of the night. They are also efficient with their deliveries. No wonder a lot of people trust them to supply dresses of all kinds, sizes, and at any cost.

Wouldn’t it be great if you’re wearing the best prom dress and matching prom shoes on the most special day of your high school life?

Louis Vuitton

I have been facebooking and loving it. One thing I like about it is that you can give and receive virtual gifts. One of my friends sent me a red Louis Vuitton bag. I so love it. And I wanna make it real. The only thing is… it’s too expensive. I may have to save (for a long time) first before buying this one. And besides, I just bought a hand bag from Carlo Rino. So it doesn’t make sense to buy another one… for now.
