Eat Yourself Smart

According to Women’s Weekly Magazine, to make yourself sharper, just have:
  • tomatoes. They contain licopene, a cortenoid with powerful disease-fighting benefits that can help protect against dementia and pancreatic and prostate cancer;
  • oily fish. Tuna and Salmon are high in the omega-3 fatty acid, DHA. It’s important for baby’s brain development, and research has shown that a diet high in oily fish helps lower your Alzheimer’s risk;
  • fortified cereals. The added B vitamins play an important role in nerve and brain function, and work effectively when taken together.

Another finding (from University of Cambridge study) is that 14 is the average number of years you add to your life if you eat lots of fruits and vegetables, exercise regularly and do not smoke.

And did you know… cranberry juice’s protective benefits, such as warding off bladde infections, flu, stomach ulcers and tooth decay, work only in women, leaving scientists baffled?
